Bill Strickland's is the recipient of a MacArthur Genius grant; he has lectured at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, served on the Board of the National Endowment for the Arts, and is a member of the President’s Committee on Arts & Humanities. His accomplishments as a leader and humanitarian are reflected not in awards or accolades, but in the thousands of people who have raised themselves out of poverty and into the world of full-time employment, through the organization Strickland built.  Harvard Business School has hailed him as a “social entrepreneur”.  His work has been profiled in Fast Company and Inc. Magazine.

Bill’s message is simple – give people the tools they need, treat them with respect, and they will perform miraculous deeds – is as simple as it is profound.

Gary is considered a pioneer in the book superstore industry when he created BOOKSTOP— later purchased by Barnes & Noble as the cornerstone of their business. He founded The Reference Press, which evolved into Hoovers.com, a world leader in the electronic distribution of corporate information on the Internet.  Gary is also the author of Hoover’s Vision: Original Thinking for Business .  Gary speaks from experience and long study about the big picture, about the critical components of the successful business mission and how enterprises are built and how they stand the test of time.  His work has been published in Business Week, Inc Business, and Fortune Small Business.
