Disruptive Product Innovation – Mid-Size & Large Company Division
Tracy Bilbrough, Juno Lighting, Inc.

CEN recognizes Juno Lighting’s innovative ModuLight power delivery system for fluorescent lighting which remotely converts line voltage to high frequency allowing the power to be delivered over Class 3 wiring.

This is a significant break through since Class 3 wiring does not have to be encased in steel conduit. ModuLight is as disruptive and beneficial a breakthrough in lighting as the advent of digital to photography.

As such, Juno Lighting is recognized as CEN’s Best Disruptive Product in the mid-size and large company division.

Not only does ModuLight system lower lighting installation cost by 20-40% by eliminating the wiring via steel conduit, it is a fully plug-and-play system allowing lighting to be reconfigured quickly and easily.

Additionally, the system has significant safety advantages as it cannot initiate a fire or electric shock and it saves up to 12% of the energy consumption. Lighting traditionally consumes 30% of all the energy used in a commercial building.

Our Committee was impressed with Juno’s ability to uncover and exploit such a significant innovation as to literally change the ‘rules of the game’ in industrial lighting. This innovation gives Juno the ability to significantly impact its market share with superior cost performance for its clients.

Additionally, it opens up new markets/ both domestically and internationally for this market leader.
