CHIEF EXECUTIVE NETWORK MEMBER NOMINATION |
EMAIL SENT BY MEMBER |

|
Dear Bill,
You will be contacted by someone from CEN in the next few days or weeks...probably Bob Grabill (President of the CEN/SEN Network), because I nominated you for membership at the meeting last week. I know that you have heard me talk about this group over the last 4-5 years.
Please give this some consideration when they call you. The annual conferences on HR Development Issues and Innovation & Leadership rank in the best conferences I have been to. Then there are two other meetings a year where you meet with your peers. The time is spent working ON the business, rather than IN the business and is time well spent. Just to give you an idea of what goes on, this is what last week's meeting was like for me (the basic format is the same at every meeting):

|
|
THURSDAY AM - PRESENTATIONS |
Thurs AM - we had presenters (two of which were members of our group, plus Bob Grabill who talked about Corporate Innovation (the topics vary from meeting to meeting). Each presentation is followed by lively discussion relative to the topic from which I always learn a lot...only about 25 people there so it is easy to speak up with questions or comments. |

|
THURSDAY PM - ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSIONS |
Thurs PM - we broke into small groups (8-12 people) for Roundtable Discussions. They always have a list of topics to choose from, but the members can also add to it. Then we vote to decide which topics we will delve into deeply. The facilitator asks some questions to get us started and from there look out - the four hours goes so fast! There are so many interesting ideas and perspectives!
I have learned so much from others and made friends with whom I communicate throughout the year. It is the most supportive and encouraging group you could hope to spend time with (yours would be a different group, but the culture is pervasive in the network). These people love to see each other succeed.

FRIDAY AM - ADVISORY BOARD |
Fri - we do something that is called Advisory Board. Each person brings a topic, question or issue they would like the advice of the group on. In our group it ranged from personnel issues to incentive programs to filling excess capacity. Each and every person in the group gives you a piece of advice. Sometimes what they tell you gives you a whole new perspective and other times it affirms what you were thinking, but the process has an element of objectivity and freshness that you won't find in our Exec Staff meetings. You can talk candidly about things in this group and know that it will be kept confidential and the membership process insures that competitors will not be across the table from you.

CEN CONNECTIONS |
In addition to the meetings, you are able to query the network when you have a specific issue you want some practical, real world advice on. Let's say you want help on managing mfg reps - you send in the question and the Network gets back to you with a list of names that you can call that responded to your question. The only requirements on your part are that you will call those people in a timely manner, report back to CEN whether the feedback was helpful and to be willing to offer your advise when someone else needs help on an issue you have had experience with. The spirit of knowledge-sharing is awesome in this group - the give and take is where the value is.

| Please consider joining - I GUARANTEE you, that you would benefit greatly from this organization. Oh, yes, almost forgot - there is usually a golf event scheduled with each meeting if you are able to get in there a day early (I know, I know, now you are sold!) |
